The work she produces ranges in style from the sculptural to functional ceramics.
Most work begins on the wheel which is her starting point for the more fluid sculptural pieces, the more functional pieces are thrown and turned on the wheel, followed by a sympathetic glaze.
Her inspiration ranges from nature which she has a strong affinity with to the celebration of the act of dining which she likes to add a touch of drama or humour depending on the nature of the piece.
Sally also works with notions of the feminine, the work will sometimes celebrate and sometimes commiserate, but there will always be an air of ambiguity and suggestion in the work which sally would like to think is playful, and invites an interaction with the viewer. Sally believes that we are all performers at heart and the work she produces is her stage and although some of the pieces are autobiographical she believes that the viewer will be able to draw parallels with their own life experiences.
